This is an inter-university event organized by the Hong Kong Baptist University, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, City University of Hong Kong, Lingnan University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

 

Date: 23 & 24th Aug, 2018 (Thur &Fri) (2 days)

Time: 10:00am -4:00pm

Venue: AAB506, Academic and Administration Building, Hong Kong Baptist University

 

What to expect?

• Students will be teamed up with students from other universities and brainstorm a mobile application idea that addresses an educational, social or environmental issue.

• Each group is required to give a presentation of their app/concept.

• Each group is required to submit at least one set of supporting materials which may include:

• Conceptual

  • How the app addresses educational, social or environmental issues.

  • Key functions/concepts on the app that would target the issues mentioned above. 

• Technical

  • If the app is not developed, a detailed concept should be provided

  • The developed app has at least one functionality

  • The developed app has multiple functionalities

  • User Interface (UI) design may include wireframes, thumbnails, workflow diagrams, page navigation, interaction design concepts etc.

• The presentations could be via PPT or video.

 

 

There will be scheduled workshops for students to get started:

• --- Thunkable

• --- HTML5

• --- Javascript

Eligibility:

This event is open to all UGC funded programme students in Hong Kong, who are interested in creating mobile applications. We welcome students from all disciplines, with or without any prior knowledge of coding/programming.
